Welcome to Bama Head Hunters
Skull Processing for Personal and Museum Mounts
We use dermestid beetles to clean your trophy skull.
Eastern Chipmunk
Using beetles has a big advantage over the use of boiling skulls. While cooking, the
melted fat soaks into the bone. This results in greasy yellow skulls. Using
beetles eliminates this problem. A deer skull can be cleaned in a day or two
with dermestid beetles without causing damage to the skull by overboiling it.
After the skull is stripped of all meat, we degrease and whiten it. The process
can take 30 days or more to complete. It is an affordable way to capture your
hunting experience and preserve your trophy mount for years to come.
